Cha Chaan Teng evolved in the 1950’s when Hong Kong people didn’t have a lot of money, but wanting to try Western food reinvented the recipes. Using simple ingredients and a lot of imagination they came up with a crazy array of dishes, all good comfort food at very reasonable prices.
Mr S.Y. PUNTI builds on this tradition. Old favourites are prepared with fresh produce sourced from Sai Ying Pun wet market and the surrounding shops. We make soup stock on a daily basis, we buy our fresh noodles locally and our chilli sauce until recently was made in David Lane. Our coffee beans are expertly roasted by Hong Kong’s oldest coffee roaster and you will get the best latte or espresso money can buy! We have Blue Girl on tap and some decent wines for the thirsty.
